Youth-led Solar expands to seven countries .
Following the successful launch of Youth-led Solar, the initiative continues to grow internationally: In addition to Germany, Great Britain, Ireland and Costa Rica, the program is now also being rolled out to selected regions in Sweden, Austria and South Korea .

Following the support from ServiceNow, other leading international companies such as Google and Microsoft are now also supporting the initiative in new regions, enabling even more young people to learn through the implementation of their own PV projects. Many thanks for that!
Youth-led Solar brings project-based learning into practice: young people independently plan and implement a real PV project: from technical planning to fundraising and communication to implementation.
Schools, youth groups and educational initiatives with motivated young people, a supervising teacher or mentor and a suitable area of approximately 50m2 are eligible to participate. No prior knowledge is required.
The selected teams will receive:
€14,000 for an approximately 10 kWp PV system
Our PV science kit (value 3,300 EUR)
Our lesson "Project development of a PV system"
Our lesson "Economic efficiency of a school photovoltaic system"
We offer assistance with technical and organizational questions, including a pre-kick-off seminar (online).
Application deadlines by country
The current application periods vary depending on the country:
Germany, Great Britain, Ireland and Costa Rica: Application deadline: June 19, 2026
Austria (Linz-Land district): soon!
Sweden (Dalarna County): from May 31st to July 13th
South Korea (Busan): from June 4th to July 19th
Since applications are reviewed continuously, it is recommended to submit them as early as possible.
With its international expansion, Youth-led Solar is growing into a global community of young people who take responsibility and implement real solar projects together. We are very excited.
