Our mission
Almost half of young people are worried about climate change. Many feel helpless. This is precisely where we come in: We show students that they can take their energy future into their own hands.
In this way, worries become confidence, doubts become energy, and helplessness becomes courage.
What we do
We develop teaching materials and lessons on solar energy that allow children and young people to experiment and experience how energy is created:

Four teaching aids (solar explorer kit, electric cube, PV science kit and an educational PV system),

17 school hours in four languages, and
-
Youth-led Solar, in which students plan a real PV system.
The materials are suitable for STEM subjects as well as economics, ethics, or chemistry, from preschool to high school graduation. They are produced in the Caritas Brucker workshop for people with disabilities in Fürstenfeldbruck.

Who is behind it
Solarbildung is a non-profit limited liability company based in Munich, founded in 2021 and managed by Matthias Schmuderer and Mike Marqués. We accomplish all of this with a single full-time employee, student assistants, volunteers, and a scientific advisory board led by Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch. We are independently financed through the sale of teaching materials and donations. What would be possible with more resources? We would be happy to discuss this question with you.
