On October 16, 2025, a large event on climate protection in the municipality of Neubiberg took place in the afternoon at the Neubiberg Gymnasium . The focus was on the question of when the municipality of Neubiberg can achieve climate neutrality .

The students in our 8f research class set up a large mobile solar power system that day, which we won in a Bavaria-wide competition, and then conducted corresponding experiments using special solar experiment kits. These will also be used in future projects for the "Jugend forscht" (Young Researchers) competition.
The subsequent panel discussion with our mayor, Mr. Thomas Pardeller, our deputy mayor, Kilian Körner, and Mr. Jens Coldewey from the Neubiberg Climate Neutral 2035 initiative also included student representatives: Leo W. and Indira G., two representatives of the Neubiberg Youth Parliament; Kaja D., a state finalist in the 2024 "Jugend forscht" ( Young Researchers) competition; and Gabriel S., a student in the Renewable Energies advanced seminar. The event was moderated by the head of the research class project, teacher Christian Herdt.

The engaging discussion, involving approximately 70 students from middle and high school, gave all representatives a chance to speak. The shared interest of all participants in climate protection was very evident, and the hour-long discussion covered a wide range of topics, from individual private balcony power plants and road traffic to the democratic education of the younger generation.
The event was part of the Bavarian Climate Week, which took place in Bavaria from October 10th to 19th, 2025. The solar power system and solar experiment kits were donated by the service company ServiceNow , which has developed a cloud platform that enables companies to digitize and automate their workflows. The educational support and development of the experiment kits were coordinated by Solar for Schools Bildung GmbH ( Solarbildung.org ). Matthias Schmuderer, one of the company's managing directors, also participated in the panel discussion.
