Playful understanding how photovoltaics work
The Explorer Kit is suitable for all primary school classes and, in principle, also for the oldest children in kindergarten.
Under the guidance of the teachers or educators, the children can independently gain their first experience of how photovoltaics work through the learning station. The extra large PV modules, the ease of use and the solid construction provide security when trying out, especially in the lower grades.
Learning goals
With the help of their teacher or independently, the children can try out a wide variety of influencing factors on the electricity generation of a photovoltaic system.
Both the angle of inclination and the orientation of the photovoltaic module can be changed by simply turning and rotating. The illuminant (the sun) can be rotated at a fixed distance around the photovoltaic module and thus simulate the course of the sun over the course of the day. With the help of more or less transparent fabric elements, a wide variety of “clouds” and their influence on power generation can be shown.
The effect on power generation is represented by the lighting up of more or fewer LED lights or by a small fan running faster, louder or slower, quieter. These optical and acoustic signals are easy to understand and will be remembered.
It is particularly impressive not only to carry out the experiments in the classroom with the light bulb, but also to go into the playground with the learning game afterwards and get to know the energy of the real sun.

The learning game is produced by the Brucker workshop for people with disabilities Fürstenfeldbruck of the Caritas Association of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising e.V..
When selecting the materials and components, special emphasis was placed on recyclability and repairability in addition to child-friendly usability.
The game comes with detailed "game instructions" for carrying out different experiments. These documents can also be found online in our teaching materials library.
